Book tip: The guide to self-love - love your body

When I first discovered this book, I was deeply touched by the respect for the versatility of our bodies. Books don't trigger such emotions in me that quickly, but I would like to recommend it to you all the more urgently.

The writer Jessica Sanders was always the greatest student in the class - what a coincidence! In my mind's eye, this description played out the films of my youth. The many moments when I felt lonely with my height. With my size, I had quickly overtaken other classmates and, especially as a teenager, girls slip into the friend zone. Most disappointing as a growing woman.

Self-love - A gift to girls all over the world

The portrait of Sanders says that she wanted this book when she was growing up and that was exactly what my thoughts were when I finished it. With its 40 pages it is not a big tome. Rather, it is a reminder of your insecure center of complexes, dark thoughts and false self-portraits.

“My body is strong. My body can do great things. My body is mine. "

You know me as a confident and happy woman, but leafing through this fantastically illustrated book touched my deepest complexes. It showed me once again how important it is to be grateful to your body. He can withstand the greatest strain and, especially in our case, long-term pain. He walks this stony path with us and that shows immense strength.

A book for girls?

“Love your body” is the book that we should give our daughters to take with them. Not to necessarily love his body (here you read where I see the difference between self-love and self-acceptance), but to learn as early as possible that there are a multitude of bodies and none of them is wrong. How to build yourself up psychologically when it is difficult and how to be careful with yourself.

Why do I recommend it not only to your daughters, but above all to you? They are lessons that many of us have missed or forgotten. Thoughts that would never have been clouded if this hideous outside world hadn't allowed itself to judge us unsolicited. This is a book for you and the girl and daughter. Get what is hunting you and heal.

Maybe with this wonderful illustrated book. Have fun with it!

Author: Caroline Sprott

I'm Caroline, born in 1989 and live in Augsburg. Why did I start the lipedema fashion blog? At the beginning of my diagnosis I was completely helpless before an uncertain future. Now, a few years later, through active participation in self-help groups and a lot of research, I have accumulated a wealth of experience that I would like to make available to other affected persons in one place - without the detour via private groups on Facebook. The fashion component is of course due to my hobby. At the time, I promised myself that I would never be restricted by compression stockings. This attitude gives other patients courage and so Michaela advised me to start a blog.
