Fashion trends autumn 2015 - Dos and Don'ts

And there it comes, the first article that deals directly with the current autumn 2015 fashion trends. Fashion trends aren't a must, but when they play into your hands, they are all the more fun. So what does autumn have in store for us in terms of styling and what should we avoid?

Thu - Capes and ponchos
Capes and ponchos are the perfect companions for dirty weather and donate warmth even on cooler late summer nights. Above all, this also frees you from pinching jacket sleeves and lets your arms appear slimmer. Combined with a felt hat of your choice and tight pants, the outfit is perfect!

Thu - Copper (and other metals)
Whether on shoes, clothing, jewelry or on the Christmas tree - copper is always possible. As a highlight, I think the color is really great and very elegant, without looking stiff. Here I have selected a variant for you that I find very exciting, especially for burning soles (yes, yes, men's shoes. But that's not on the shoe :). But belts could work well in color too.

Don't - 7/8 trousers and coulottes
Bad news girls. Unfortunately, the fashion world has devoted itself to a difficult topic, because very few can wear pants with special shapes. In the best case, unfortunately, only tall, very slim women. I wouldn't necessarily recommend these copies to you. It visually shortens the legs significantly, makes your legs look powerful or puts the focus on the worst possible place. Instead, you can switch to skinny jeans, straight pants or a chic skirt.

Thu - Emphasize the waist
Lipedema is characterized by a relatively narrow upper body compared to the rest of the body. This is exactly what you can do to your advantage and draw all eyes to your waist with a great belt or skirt. With pants with a high waistband, however, make sure that there is a large area on your pelvis and hips, which can again appear very bulky. How can that be prevented? Let the high waistband come out slightly and cover the rest with your top. So you break through the optics.

Thu - pastel
Don't be afraid of bright colors! Pastel colors and camel are very trendy and can be very dressy when combined with a contrasting color. Above all, you have the opportunity to use the contrast to focus on the part of the body that you prefer. You pack sturdy legs in the dark color and combine it with a light coat, for example. You can distract yourself from voluminous upper arms with a combination of a dark, narrow top and a light vest blazer.

Of course, for all tips, in the end you decide for yourself what to do with it. But maybe some of you don't dare to do some things because they have no idea how to combine it so that it does something good for you.

Do you have an item of clothing in your closet that you simply cannot combine? Maybe we can find a solution together!

What are you most looking forward to this fall? What do you prefer to wear this time of year?

I'm looking forward for comments!
Best regards,

I'm Caroline, born in 1989 and live in Augsburg. Why did I start the lipedema fashion blog? At the beginning of my diagnosis I was completely helpless before an uncertain future. Now, a few years later, through active participation in self-help groups and a lot of research, I have accumulated a wealth of experience that I would like to make available to other affected persons in one place - without the detour via private groups on Facebook. The fashion component is of course due to my hobby. At the time, I promised myself that I would never be restricted by compression stockings. This attitude gives other patients courage and so Michaela advised me to start a blog.
