All chronic diseases have their challenges, such as: B. A new identity, and one cannot and must not even differentiate between noticeable, visible or incomprehensible restrictions for the environment, because each brings its own hurdles.
I would love to make this article fun and entertaining, but there are topics that make me a lump in my throat. This one is one of them. I already got you from mine Psychotherapy, mean Experience with liposuction, fashionable self-therapy and mine Handover Completion tells. All these aspects shaped me not only mentally, but above all in my identity. Just like you put on Do you feel yourself. Just like you think Do you feel yourself.
Don't ignore your body
Many of us live in a defensive position and have stopped caring about the affected parts of the body. But what if you reject parts of yourself? Of course I can understand that sometimes this lack of a sense of belonging resonates and you have the feeling that something does not belong to you or works against you. But is it really the whole leg or the whole arms or is it just the damn fat and substances that cause the disease and not the body part itself? How much have these extremities endured, shown strength, defied the pain and carried you through your life? Face your body benevolently. You don't have to love him or break out into dances of joy when you see yourself naked (although I could understand). But the least bit of acceptance will call for a truce and that can be balm for your head as well as your soul.
How do you do that now?
Touch these rejected areas consciously, see how it still feels. It is best to take some care (e.g. the cooling medi Day gel) and a massage brush or similar with you and deal with it very consciously. Do not ignore your body, but show it and thus yourself (consciously) that you are grateful for every step it takes with you - despite all adversities. You only have this one body.
Being confident has nothing to do with presence or courage, but with awareness of yourself.
It's nobody else's business either. Nobody else should be able to dispose of your self-worth. This is a link between you and your soul and your body. Self-confidence and self-esteem is a closed conference room, in which one can expose oneself to heated discussions and hot tears, but also conclude peace treaties again. Sometimes you need a mediator (compression garments, therapists or sprats, for example) or security (doctors). But you are in this room together and only come out together.
Mei, that was very metaphorical now.
Show yourself respect
I've already written everything about fashion and respect for yourself on this blog, but you might think that my fashionable self-therapy works all by itself. I know how to do it. Not even close! Every morning, and I really mean every single one, I stand in front of my closet and listen inside.
What is in store for me today? How do i feel Which garment speaks to me? What makes me tickle?
Every day I choose my outfit very consciously and thus set the pace for my body feeling. The worse I feel, the more I hit the shit. If I feel bad, at least I feel like a bad noblewoman.
I deliberately used my black compression in the pictures for this article (mediven® 550 with Ribs pattern) so that you can see that black can also provide a concept as a color. Many choose muted and beige colors to be more independent. This is definitely not a bad choice. But an outfit is like a good painting. There are details to discover everywhere and all brushstrokes skilfully and playfully merge into one another. So also play with the black, anthracite or beige. Allow them in the outfit and they become a concept. Without getting involved with the compression and being able to rely on it, I would probably never have learned that.
It is the moment when the possibilities no longer end at the compression, but only arise through it.
What does all this have to do with respect? Putting on compression is compared to putting on a tank. What happens to your mind color when you label it armor? Exactly, you approach the matter differently. The tank goes hand in hand with rejection, armor with inviolability. Which of the two options would you choose?
Jump into the cold water
With a chronic illness, you will face a lot of new challenges and unknown waters, such as a new identity. I have had important experiences with this. There is so so much more in you than you ever imagined. Energy, creativity, perseverance, courage, willpower - imagine yourself in 5 years, how you look back on your current self and marvel at what you have already achieved in that time. Do not let a diagnosis take away your dreams, but use all therapy options that bring you a little closer to them.
Do you think I was born a compression model, speaker, author, presenter or health fluencer? For me, every single activity meant jumping into the deep end and every single one of them was worth it. If not for success, then for the experience that you grow with it.
Re-identity: surround yourself with good and good
Above all, my search for identity has resulted in surrounding myself more actively with beautiful things and good people and in dealing with myself. Always fresh flowers on the table, a friendly space to work and my curiosity to find the optimal self-management for me. Apps also help me with this, such as B. the medicompanion App that I use to incorporate relaxation exercises into everyday life. It also helps me sometimes to keep the compression on for an hour longer or reminds me that I can get a new prescription for compression supplies.
Banish toxic people from your life and let friendly fellows back in. Because these can in turn give good influences and help you further in your personality development.
Never forget who you are - leave behind who you were.
