Pregnancy with lipedema # 3 - Halfway through / outing

Half is done

Pregnancy with lipedema - halfway through. I am currently in the 23rd week of pregnancy. Just in advance, the little belly-dweller is doing great. We have learned a lot in the last few weeks, including gender, more on that in a moment.

Mood and feelings

Basically, I'm still very balanced. I don't have tantrums, nor do I begin to get sentimental on the spot. Probably my husband is happy about this condition! I am always happy to stroll through the shops and get little things for our sunshine. I carefully place these on the changing table at home and look at them several times a day. A very enchanting feeling then spreads inside me - comfortably warm contentment and happiness. Unfortunately, there are also bad things to report. The worst news of that time was the diagnosis of FIP of my cat Ronja. We will now accompany you to the end, but this is a point that brings all my luck to crumble. A baby will be born, a baby will die. Life takes and life gives ... tears come back to me.

Desires / dislikes

I don't even want to mention it anymore. But yes! I keep struggling with the nausea. Meat is really a taboo subject and what I can and really want to eat is only shown shortly before meals. But I've come to terms with it and everything works out fine. The fact that it is now working so well has to do with my employment ban. This takes some of the pressure off me and I can concentrate on myself. Even if I resisted it, I now don't regret it.

I have no cravings. For a while I could only eat bread and cheese. This consisted of my breakfast, lunch and dinner. But that was less to be rated as pleasure, rather everything else was so against me that only these foods were okay. At the moment I'm already ready to eat lettuce and cucumber and some fruit has also been added. Feels like freedom, seriously!

Pregnancy with lipedema

I notice that my legs are slowly getting busy. Without compression I have deposits, which I then fight with my lymph machine in the evening. Tightening the compression becomes difficult. So your stomach is in the way and you are more immobile. I even get pressure on my stomach and feel sick. So always nice and slow. I try to wear the compression regularly. Otherwise, therapy continues with MLD and automat. Although I have to say that I feel a lot of nausea even after the lymphatic drainage. But I'll have that clarified at the next appointment and address it.

Other ailments

Last time I told you about my buttock pain. In fact, it is sciatica pain that is totally normal. In addition, my right thigh has been numb for weeks. The baby is lying so awkwardly that it pinches nerves and restricts the blood supply. Well, there really is joy! But at least I was assured that the symptoms would go away after the birth. TOI Toi Toi!

My pelvis hurts, especially at night. I usually lie on my right side. My pelvis hurts extremely, and changing sides doesn't really help. Then the other side hurts. I don't want to start with the back pain now. Well, it's not all sunshine, but somehow you take it all with pleasure. Everything for the little miracle.

Current research

Fine diagnostics were due. We were a bit nervous, but basically I have to say that I'm very positive about every examination. Everything was fine. Our little creature always fidgets like crazy and you can hardly ever shut your mouth. By the way, IT is a little SHE, a little GIRL, a little sweet heart girl. We are really blown away. She is very healthy and raging happily in my stomach. It is now almost 30 cm tall and will soon weigh half a kilo and we can now feel it every day. Just before and after dinner, the lady says whether she liked it or whether she's hungry. I think that's really great, sometimes it knocks really hard. Sometimes she seems to run back and forth in her stomach. The whole thing is so fascinating and so unreal! You can't put it into words (even when I'm trying). My words don't do justice to what I feel ...

That was it for news on my part. I wish all soon-to-be mothers a great ball time. Quite a few have contacted me. Greetings from you!

  • Hi Anja,

I've said it before, but I have to say it again:
Thank you for letting us take part in your pregnancy so intimately (as a lipedema sufferer and also in general). That helps me a lot, because, for example, my medical supply store didn't even know how often I am entitled to stockings in the SS ... without your blog I would be really lost in some cases 🙂 And the doctors and the medical supply store gratefully accepted my comments.
THANK YOU to all of you <3
