Exercising with Lipedema: Shred Yourself Happy with Jillian Michaels

Jillian Michaels is known for her effective and sweaty workouts. She is badly the "boot camp drill master". Sounds harsh? It is! But it's also a lot of fun to push your limits. So if you are looking for a new challenge and want to shred (shape) your body in 30 days, Shred 30 Days is the best choice.

Why is?

The whole system consists of three workouts that build on each other. To be precise, high-intensity interval training, also called HIIT. Each workout is a total of 20 minutes. long and therefore enormously time-saving in contrast to other sports. Muscles and endurance are well used in every "level" and sore muscles are inevitable. The program is divided into levels, the first ten days you do level 1, day 11-20 level 2 and then level 3.

What do you need?

  • Strong will and perseverance (sorry girls, unfortunately not for sale)

  • Sportswear / compression stockings / non-slip shoes (e.g. Sketchers)
  • Small dumbbell set (e.g. from MOVIT or alternatively water bottles)

My experience

I've done Shred a few times myself. It's really tough, but it's worth it. It is best to take photos before / after to make your successes visible. I got into the sport through Shred and I can really recommend it. If there is no other option, do the exercises at your own pace and do not let yourself be rushed to perform. Slow and clean is better than fast and wrong. Pay attention to your knees during the exercises, they must never go beyond the tip of your foot. Then you shouldn't have any problems. You can also take a day off during the challenge if the sore muscles are too nasty. Your compression is allowed in this workout NO absence!

    many thanks for your post! I've had the Shred DVD for 2 years now and have only lasted 17 days so far. Otherwise only max. 8-9 days. I often can't manage the 30 days. 🙁 At 40h Working the week, family, friends, household & everyday stress, I often lack the motivation for almost 20 minutes Jilian. How do you morivise yourself?       I just try to do my thing no matter what. Sometimes it doesn't help me to think about it and just go for sports, it helps me mentally adjust to it. For example, I plan my sports sessions in the morning for the evening. That works out quite well. And should it not work out ... no broken leg. We're all just human.

      But where there is a will, there is also gone.
